my apologies faithful readers.
There won’t be any sweet pictures of my little love because Jim and I are not with her. We have been in Las Vegas since Saturday. I am getting some much needed R&R while Mr. Hubby is working his tail off, literally. We’re here for the MBE/UPS Store Franchise Convention, which actually comes to a close today which is exciting and sad all at the same time! When we arrived on Saturday Jim had to run immediately off to a meeting which left me to walk around aimlessly until our room was ready. To be honest, I love alone time. Jim never has to worry about me trying to occupy myself because I am so content hanging out on my own to “think”. So after a few four hours, a delish Ruben wrap at Munch (the best wrap I have ever had!) and a stroll through the forum shops and back I headed up to the desk to pick-up our room keys. The line lady moved me to the regular check-in line and we got talking about why we’re staying at Caesar’s and my plans while staying. By the time I got moved up I could have already been done, but I wasn’t necessarily in a hurry. The very nice gentleman felt bad and upgraded our room to the Palace tower instead of the Roman and gave me a pool view. . . score! I was just ecstatic when I got to our room because it was more spacious than the room we would have had and it was sans jacuzzi in the room or a.k.a the porn star room the Roman tower has to offer. Let’s just say, I have slept in everyday until 11 or 12, picked up the room and then headed down to the pool for my fav cocktail, the Paloma. Ahhh! The first day I drank this tasty refreshment of Casadores, ruby red grapefruit, agave and lime and I got drunk for the first time by myself! I guess 32 ounces of liquid refreshment isn’t good on an empty stomach. The second day by the pool I managed to stay out there for more than four hours and have the weirdest tan/burn lines! I am blaming the weird markings on my post partum skin! On a side note, I did not feel weird in a bathing suit, thank golly!
I have only been able to attend the MBE welcome party which was held down at the pools. The event had an open bar (patron in my case), amazing food, music, swimming mermaids, synchronized swimmers and meeting franchisees all equalled a great evening! Last night Jim didn’t get done working until 9 PM so we met up with his co-worker and friend, JB, and headed to Serendipity 3 for some frooozen hot chocolates and dinner. Amazing. Tonight Jim has his farewell ball, which I cannot attend. Originally he was going to try and get out of it so we could head over to UNLV to watch tonight’s NBA Summer League game, but it’s now a no-go. BOO! I have seen so many NBA stars walking around the forum shops each day; Shaq was here on Saturday filming a celebrity boxing match, maybe for season 2 of his show? Who knows.
All in all, this solo vacay has been very relaxing and I am thankful for my new phone (the EVO) for allowing me to tether the Internet so I could finally stop twitching from not being able to browse my fav blogs. ha ha. Tomorrow afternoon I finally get to see my baby girl, I miss her so much! Of course, Grandma is calling with updates of my angel. She started pulling herself up into a seating position about 15 minutes after we left and she is also trying to pull herself up to stand. Oh boy!
I leave you with a few pictures:
Okay, I am off to watch a movie. I had a rough day of shopping, I need to relax. ha ha.
Fourth of July Weekend Recap
We had a great fourth of July weekend. We headed up to my parents house early Saturday morning and pretty much just relaxed! It’s always great going home, my parents house is so nice and cozy nestled in the serene San Bernardino mountains. Jim detailed my car with my Dad and then late that evening after my Momma’s delish chicken salad we went up to Big Bear to spend some with our friends and Payton’s God Parents, Travis and Suzanne. Our time spent with them is always great and we always just sit and make fun at each other the entire time. For the fourth we celebrated by going to my sister’s house. She had her entire house decked out in Patriotic reds, whites and blues. She went totally overboard but it was all fabulous! She even baked my red velvet cupcakes which were almost spot on! As for yesterday I was able to sleep in until 11 am which was so nice! Jim and I spent the early afternoon together and then I went to go see my oldest best friend, Maggie, in the hospital. Maggie had her baby girl, Molly on Saturday morning. She is the cutest little thing, it almost makes me want another baby again, hey, I said almost! Sorry for the picture overload! I hope you all had a great weekend!
Calling all Twitards
Are you a twitard? I know I am! It’s kind of embarrassing to admit but hey, I read the series, I got all giddy like a teenage girl and I have waited in line to see the last two films at midnight. Ahhh. Edward I love thee, sorry Jacob fans. He is pretty damn sexy now that he is all buff and stuff, but there is just something about Edward. What team are you on?

Happy Anniversary –
Three years ago today I married my best friend. I could never have asked for a better companion, cheerleader, lover and father to have married. Jim you are my world, I thank God everyday for bringing us together. You have put up with me, watched me cry, seen me throw one to many glasses, watched me cry again and then made me laugh until I pee my pants. You complete me and I seem to fall in love with you more and more each day. You are my rock. Happy Anniversary to the man of my dreams.
For our anniversary we were able to go out on a date since my Mom so graciously watched Payton so we could sneak away for the second time since she arrived. We dined down in Old Town San Diego, and then I had to bake 100+ cupcakes for an order. Not the typical anniversary, but it was nice to have an uninterrupted adult dinner conversation.
Thank you Mom and Dad for the new refrigerator to house cakes and cupcakes in the garage!
Since it is wedding (anniversary) season, what was your wedding song and what is your favorite wedding cake flavor?
Our Wedding song was: Keith Urban’s “My Everything” and my fav wedding cake combo always has something to do with cherries, the good kind, cheesecake mousse or Bavarian cream, chocolate ganache and yummy buttercream. Or, anything that is super moist and chock full of goodies!
