In a little more than twenty-four hours I will be hopping on a plane for the red eye to BlogHer 2012 in NYC. I am really excited to reconnect with bloggers I met last year and to meet many of my new bloggy “friends”. This trip is also serving as a girl’s trip, so on top of all the BlogHer craziness of: parties, sessions, more parties and swag; we also plan on fitting in a mini food tour. Since BlogHer was in San Diego last year it was really easy to adjust what I was wearing, or pack extra in my car. I do not have that luxury this year and I am trying to pack lightly so I can bring home all the amazing swag that our fav brands will be passing out. I am typically a light packer so I think I will be okay. The key to this trip besides light packing is wearing light breathable clothing. Um, hello?!?! California girls and humidity do not mix well.
I need to tell you I am on a huge budget for this trip. I had a strict budget of spending less than $300 and I pretty much met that goal, coming in right around $250 for six outfits and accessories. I will be on an even tighter budget while in the city. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll see packed away in my suitcase along with where I purchased and how much I paid.
gap trouser shorts Originally $49.99 marked down to $21.99 plus an additional 40% off
Black Mossimo sandals (way old, but my fav)
Tory Burch nude sandals $109 originally combined with Amazon.com gift cards and birthday money I didn’t pay a penny.
Guess wedges (purchased two years ago from Nordstrom)
Are you headed to BlogHer for the first time? Wondering what to wear? Last year I was seven months preggo so I kept it simple and comfy. You will see women in everything from casual jeans to super dolled up. You are representing you so do what you’re most comfortable in and remember those cute shoes you just bought might not be the best idea. You will be walking, walking, walking all day! Schedules are insane and if it’s like last year I will need a week to recover. Check out my posts from last year: here, here and here.
