Last night we said goodbye to Miss P for the week. She will be staying with Grandma and Papa until Friday since I started my new job today. It was definitely a lot more difficult leaving her this time around vs. leaving for Vegas three weeks ago. There was a point when I laid her down for the third attempt that Jim and I were saying our goodbye’s and we were both crying. The mentality this time around made things a lot harder. I guess last time it was easier since we were going out of state and we knew when we got back I could nap and hold her all day. I have been so blessed to have spent the first four months of her life on maternity leave and then returned back to work only having worked for a few months. The past six weeks have been difficult because leaving my old job was not planned, so financially it has been rough but we are managing like most people do. My new job, which is a step down from my past job will offer me less stress at work and at home. I will not have to be on-call 24/7, I am getting paid more, which is a huge plus and it’s for a company that has their shit together. The downside for me is that the restaurant I will be located at is open 365, 7 am-12 am so it bums me out slightly that I will most likely be away from my baby on her first Halloween, Thanksgiving and possibly even her birthday. I just have to keep my head up because this job is for the better and I know I will be happier in general. Maybe it’s a sign that I just need to suck it up and be an “adult”.
Back to work I go!
I am more than thankful to have spent more than five months with my baby girl. Now, the pursuit to finding a nanny begins!
Could you leave this silly girl?!
Playing in her walker in the kitchen while I bake cookies. She was eating her “puffies” and giggling at her pup.
And for you viewing pleasure a shot at her two bottom teethies! The top two have started to break through. Luckily, my Mom is a saint and is dealing with my unhappy girl as she goes through the addition of her top two chompers.
I would have left her eyes to make you giggle, but my better half said I better not “embarrass” her. ha ha.
For those working mama’s out there, where did you find your nanny’s? I have heard of collegenannies.com (but they have not called me back, boo!) and placing an ad on craigslist. Ideas?
For those curious as to why I left my General Management position it is an extremely long story. It was not planned. The last day I worked was my birthday (6/22), I was blackmailed into quitting by a very evil child who is sleeping with the owner. The owner, was once someone I could call a friend, but when your man parts start controlling your business and relationships, especially one of a gold-digging, trashy, blue-eyeshadow wearing skank one needs to escape the childish games for a healthy, happy life. 🙂 I am not bitter, it was all a blessing in disguise and it feels liberating writing that. It is my blog right?

I’m sorry! I know it’s hard to transition and to leave that precious baby girl! When we first moved her I met a nanny at our pool. Good luck on your search! 🙂

My cousin, who is a chef in Denver, found a college girl for their two kids. She comes to the house. Not sure if he used a website, or word of mouth- but college students work out well due to their schedules and their high level of energy. =) Good luck! Put the word out, Im sure you will find someone great!
