Last week when I got home from Spin class we had discussed going to the Poway farmer’s market but I had to get up to Temecula to meet my sister, niece and nephew to see “Despicable Me”. We made the plan to make it a part of our day the following week, so yesterday we woke up early and drove a few miles over to the market. It was our first time there and it was so cute! The paper had stated that the market was cheaper than the grocery stores and our local Henry’s, which wasn’t the case when we were walking around. We still managed to support our local farmers and picked up some: peaches, plums, nectarines, green and yellow beans, fresh flowers, an array of small squashes and the BEST German stuffed sausage sandwich. I love old Poway, I always see my store front on Midland in the cute old-time buildings, plus, the railroad is a huge hit for kids of all ages. We exited the market and took a stroll through the park and snapped a few pictures, I am in love with the park! I can totally see a small gathering of friends and family there. After the park and market we headed home for a few minutes and then headed to our Aunt and Uncle’s house to take Payton swimming for the first time. Sadly, I do not have any pictures, but she was a natural! I think we spent over an hour in the pool, she kicked, splashed and tried to eat her floatie. On other Payton news, her two bottom teeth have broken through and every time I see them I just giggle. She is going to look so stinkin’ cute with pearly whites!
Please excuse the picture overload, but we (I) got a little picture happy. Hope y’all are having a great weekend!
This booth was my favorite. Despite not making a purchase I went back three time just to look. She had bunches of mixed color carrots, purple beans, watermelon radishes, micro greens, fresh garbanzo beans and gorgeous looking herbs.
This was the best sandwich, EVER. It was a spicy German pork sausage that oozed Gouda cheese from the center, stuffed into a fresh baguette with hot mustard and salty sauerkraut. It was bananas! We’re going back next week for another round!
This booth also had homemade salami which I will also be purchasing for a holiday get together.
This was the first high school in Poway and the gathering location for the Templar’s.
and look who has enough hair for a little pony! 🙂
